Opportunity brief
Overview
Sense. Follow. Race. Conquer.
Line Follower is a two-round Robotics and Embedded Systems competition of Addovedi 2026 (NIT Arunachal Pradesh), organised by the ECE Society. Teams build an autonomous line-following robot from a fixed set of provided components, so it's a fair test of skill, not budget. Held on campus, 28-30 October 2026.
Guidelines
- Eligibility: college students, valid student ID required.
- Team size: 1 to 3 members.
- Inter-college / inter-specialization: allowed. Open to all branches.
- Problem statement: 1. Build a robot that follows a printed line track on its own.
- Rounds: 2. Qualifying round, then a best-of-two competitive round.
- Track: printed black line, 20 mm wide, on a white background. Round 2 track is more challenging.
- Hardware: only components provided by the ECE Society.
- Registration: sign up on the Addovedi website, register for Line Follower to get your Team ID, then register on Unstop with the Team ID + the leader's Addovedi ID.
- Registration fee: Rs. 50 per member (each team member pays Rs. 50).
- Prize pool: Rs. 20,000 (including goodies).
Rules
- Only ECE Society components. No extra or more powerful motors, sensors, controllers or batteries.
- No touching, moving or guiding the robot once the run starts.
- In Round 2, if the robot loses the line, it restarts from the last checkpoint.
- A re-run is possible only for track or timing system faults, not for robot problems.
- Cheating or interference = immediate disqualification.
- Judges' and organising committee's decisions are final.
- Rules may be modified for fair conduct and will be announced before implementation.
