Opportunity brief

HexaCode is an Online Assessment designed to simulate a real-world tech placement/internship screening round. Think you can handle the pressure of a real OA? This contest blends algorithmic problem-solving, domain knowledge, and language proficiency into one high-stakes challenge, just like the ones top tech companies use to filter candidates. Sharpen your DSA, test your Computer Networks fundamentals, and prove your command over Java, all under the clock.

Contest Format

The assessment consists of 3 sections:

  • Coding Round — 2 problem-solving questions based on DSA, algorithms, and logical reasoning
  • Domain MCQs — 2 technical questions from Computer Networks
  • Language MCQs — 5 questions testing core Java concepts

Total Questions: 9 (2 coding + 7 MCQs) Total Duration: 60 minutes (Coding: 40 min | MCQs: 20 min)

Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Open to all students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in any technical or computer-science-related field
  • Team Format: Individual participation only — no teams
  • Inter-college participation: Allowed — students from any college/institution may participate
  • Inter-specialization participation: Allowed — open to all branches/specializations; no restriction to CS/IT students only
  • Number of Questions: 9 total (2 coding problems, 2 domain-based MCQs, 5 programming language MCQs)
  • Round Duration: Single round, 60 minutes total, no breaks
  • Platform: Contest hosted on Unstop
  • Devices: Desktop/laptop recommended for the coding section

Rules

  • Each participant must attempt the assessment individually — no collaboration or team submissions allowed.
  • Plagiarism/copied code across participants will lead to immediate disqualification of all involved parties.
  • Use of AI code-generation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) or external help during the coding round is strictly prohibited.
  • Once started, the timer cannot be paused — ensure a stable internet connection before beginning.
  • Partial scoring will be awarded for coding questions based on the number of test cases passed (including hidden test cases).
  • All MCQs carry equal weightage; there is no negative marking unless stated otherwise on the platform.
  • Switching browser tabs excessively during the assessment may be flagged (if proctoring is enabled on the platform).
  • Decisions made by the Code Club evaluation panel regarding scoring, disqualification, or ties will be final and binding.
