Merkle Science Pvt Ltd is hiring for the role of Software Engineer Backend Intern!
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python(Django/FastAPI)
- Write efficient queries and manage data models in PostgreSQL
- Work with Redis for caching, queues, and improving service performance
- Collaborate with frontend and QA engineers to ship end-to-end features
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
- Debug and optimize existing services for performance and scale
- Work with large datasets related to blockchain transactions (exposure to tools like ClickHouse is a plus)
Requirements:
- Strong fundamentals in Python and object-oriented programming
- Understanding of Django/FastAPI or any Python web framework
- Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) — schema design, indexing, query optimization
- Basic understanding of caching concepts and tools like Redis
- Understanding of REST API design principles
- Strong problem-solving and DSA fundamentals (arrays, trees, graphs, hashing)
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative version control workflows
