Opportunity brief

Overview

What should you build, for whom, and what should you deliberately leave out?

SCOPE.CREEP is the Product Management track at CaseUnion 4.0. Teams choose one of three cases and develop a focused product recommendation that accounts for user needs, stakeholder constraints and business economics.

The Membership

Design a paid membership for an independent bookstore that becomes contribution-positive within 12 months while protecting the experience its regular customers value.

The Second Generation

Build ordering, fulfilment and customer-ownership capabilities for a legacy family business. Address staff adoption, festive demand and the founder's expectations without disrupting the business.

The Tool That Disappears

Make premium productivity tools more accessible and useful to younger Indian makers through software, pricing, access and channel decisions. Hardware redesign is outside your authority.

Submission Format

The submitted pack specifies:

  • A maximum of 8 slides.
  • A 2-page written brief.
  • A 5-minute pitch followed by 3 minutes of questions.
  • An appendix that judges may consult if required.

Teams must choose one case.

Evaluation

  • Problem framing: 20 points
  • User insight and evidence: 15 points
  • Solution and scope discipline: 20 points
  • Metrics and economics: 20 points
  • Tradeoffs and risk: 15 points
  • Communication: 10 points

Rules

The financial data in the pack is synthetic and must be treated as the case baseline. Teams may add clearly stated assumptions but may not overwrite the supplied data.

Follow the deliverables for the chosen case. Address stakeholder adoption and explain what is excluded from the product scope.

Process and Eligibility

The pack proposes either a three-week asynchronous competition or a six-hour in-person sprint. The selected format, schedule, eligibility and final AI-use policy will be confirmed before registration.
