All That You Need To Know About ARC's LOS Drone Race '26 (On-Spot Is Also Available):

Prepare to embark on an exhilarating journey where precision, speed, control, and piloting skills come together in an adrenaline-pumping drone racing challenge. Join forces with fellow enthusiasts to build and customize your very own drone, pushing your piloting skills to the limit as you navigate through challenging obstacles and compete for supremacy. It's time to take flight, master the controls, and race your way to victory!

Format: 2 Rounds (Cumulative Scoring):

Round 1:

  • All participants will be given one lap.
  • The number of obstacles will be minimal in this round.
  • The run time will be calculated as: Run Time = Drive Time + Penalty (in seconds).

Round 2:

  • All participants will be given two laps.
  • The maximum number of obstacles will be used in this round.
  • The run time will be calculated as: Run Time = Drive Time + Penalty (in seconds).

Obstacles You Can Expect:

Participants can expect a challenging combination of obstacles and sections, including:

  • Gates.
  • Tunnels.
  • Narrow Gates.
  • Rings.
  • Vertical Gates.
  • Zig-Zags.
  • Precision Landing Zones.
  • Height-Control Sections.
  • Directional Gates.
  • Suspended Obstacles.
  • Net Sections.
  • Loops.

The obstacle configuration may vary between rounds.

Rules:

  • Maximum Drone Dimensions: 30 cm × 30 cm (Length × Breadth).
  • Maximum Operating Battery Voltage: 4S (16.08V).
  • Type: No restriction on the shape or design of the drone, provided it complies with the dimensional and battery restrictions.
  • Ready-made drones or commercially available complete racing drones are strictly prohibited.
  • Participants are expected to build and customize their own drones.
  • The drone must comply with all dimensional, electrical, and safety requirements specified by the event organizers.
  • Any violation of these rules may lead to immediate team disqualification and/or addition of penalties.
  • Participants must operate their drones only within the designated race area and as instructed by the event managers.
  • Any unsafe operation or deliberate interference with another participant's drone may result in penalties or disqualification.
  • The decision of the event managers will be final and binding.

Judging Criteria:

Total Time Calculation:

Final Score = ((R1 + R2) + Penalties (in seconds)) / 2

Where:

  • R1: Round 1 timing.
  • R2: Round 2 timing.
  • Penalties: Total penalty time accumulated during both rounds.

In case of a tie in timings, the penalties will be considered for judging. The participant or team with the least penalty points will be declared the winner.

Penalties:

  • All penalties, including the applicable penalty time for missing gates, touching or knocking obstacles, skipping obstacles, going outside the designated track, or other rule violations, will be explained during the event briefing on race day.
  • The event managers reserve the right to impose penalties for unsafe practices, rule violations, or actions that affect the fairness of the competition.
