Opportunity brief

Case Closed: The Policy Crime Scene puts you in the role of a Special Economic Forensics Officer investigating a fictional government programme that has gone wrong. Examine documents, crack codes, analyse financial records, connect conflicting statements and determine what actually happened. No specialist knowledge of economics or public policy is required. The challenge rewards observation, reasoning, teamwork and evidence-based conclusions.

A fictional government programme received an allocation of ₹100 crore to improve school infrastructure. Records show that ₹72 crore was spent, while several schools claim that promised equipment never arrived. Officials maintain that the programme was implemented successfully. Something does not add up. Your mission is to determine: Where did the implementation process break down? Which records contradict one another? What can the evidence establish - and what remains unverified? What is the most defensible explanation for the failure?

All figures, documents and allegations are fictional. A discrepancy alone does not prove fraud or establish individual wrongdoing.
