Opportunity brief
Overview:
The universe doesn't speak in words - it speaks in equations. Every orbit, every collapsing star, every ripple in spacetime is, at its core, a mathematical statement waiting to be decoded. Numbers aren't just abstractions here; they're the closest thing we have to a universal language, one capable of describing everything from planetary motion to the curvature of the cosmos itself. For those who see problem-solving as a way of understanding the universe, the National Students' Space Challenge 2026 brings you the Cosmomath Challenge — where logic meets the cosmos, and every solved equation brings you one step closer to the stars.
Bring your love for numbers, and let's put it to the test!
Rules & Regulations:
- This is an individual/team-based event that is open to college students only.
- Each team can have a maximum of 3 participants. The team members can be from different institutions.
- ONLY the team leader should register on behalf of the whole team.
- Each registered team is permitted only one attempt per round, which must be made from a single device. Multiple attempts from the same or different devices will result in disqualification from that round.
- The preliminary round will comprise 3 online MCQ-based quizzes. The teams may participate in one or more of these. If a team wishes to participate in more than one preliminary quiz, the best score among them will be chosen.
- Description of the final round will be provided only during the event.
- The top 3 teams will receive cash prizes and goodies.
- In the event of any dispute, the decision of Team NSSC will be final and binding.
Generating Team ID and Participant IDs:
- Register separately as participants on the website. Each participant will get a participant ID in the format 26-xxxxxx (26 followed by 6 digits). Please note that this does NOT constitute the team ID.
- Go to Cosmomath and register as a team (if you haven't already). Once your team's registration is confirmed, your team will be assigned a team ID in the format T-xxxxxxx (T followed by 7 digits). This will be the ID associated with your team for the rest of the event, and this is the ID you need to enter under "Team ID" during registration on Unstop.
Please note that entering your team ID on Unstop is mandatory to be considered for the next stage of the selection process. Otherwise, you won't be eligible to qualify for the next rounds, irrespective of your performance in this round.
