Opportunity brief
General Rules:
- Teams must consist of 3–5 members. Teams must register on Unstop.
- All decisions by the Economics Club and the judges in the first and second rounds are final.
- At least 3 team members must be available on Judging Day. Please inform us if there are any availability issues for any of the team members.
- Teams that are unable to confirm their attendance on time will forfeit their place. In their place, the next best team will get a chance and they will be informed promptly.
- Originality of your cases is extremely important and plagiarism will not be tolerated at all.
Prelims:
- The participant has to register for the event through the Unstop portal.
- Case material will be released thereafter on 19th September 2026; Registration and Submission ends on 24th September 2026 (EOD).
- Finals are scheduled on 28th September 2026.
- Late submissions will not be considered. The mode of submission will be conveyed to the registered participants.
- The top 7 teams will move on to the second round where they will present their ideas in front of a panel of judges consisting of industry experts and leaders.
Final Showcase: Submission Requirements:
- Name your files as such: M&A_[team name].pptx, M&A_[team name].pdf and M&A_[team name].xlsx.
- PowerPoint Presentation with no more than 15 slides of content. Both PPT and PDF are required, with the Excel financial model being optional.
- An Executive Summary on one of the 15 slides of your presentation.
- An Excel financial model containing any supporting data.
- Your team is free to decide on the pitch deck title and format.
- The content should be analytical and predictive rather than descriptive.
Judgement Criteria:
- Relevance, accuracy and soundness of quantitative and qualitative analysis holds 50% weightage.
- Format and structure of presentation of materials contributing to clarity and coherence holds 20% weightage.
- Effective communication skills, persuasiveness and teamwork holds 20% weightage.
- Professional judgment of the situation and overall reasoning process holds 10% weightage.
Advised To Include:
- Situation overview, performance assessment, competitive landscape and positioning of the relevant companies and industries.
- Take care not to overestimate scenarios and make assumptions. Your analysis and data should be backed by logic, reasoning and rationale.
- Provide an overview of potential acquisition opportunities, a comparative analysis of the risks and benefits, and potential solutions for problems that may arise from your economic decisions in your case.
- Valuation strategy/ Financing Structure / Potential Growth Opportunities.
- Make sure that your case study has recommendations and potential targets mapped out with comparisons with other potential alternatives. Your case should reflect why your recommended target is the best possible option available.
Prizes:
- Winner: Prizes worth 10k.
- Runner-Up: Prizes worth 7k.
- Second Runner-Up: Prizes worth 3k.
Rules and Regulations: General Rules:
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to disqualify any team promoting obscenity through their act.
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to cancel the prelims stage in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- BRCA, IIT Delhi reserves the right to change the prize money before the commencement of the prelims.
- In the case of any dispute, the organizers' decision will be final and binding.
- The organizers are not responsible for the non-completion/non-occurrence of the event.
- The organizers have all the right to cancel, reschedule, postpone, and amend the event/competition.
- The decisions of the Jury/Judges are final.
Terms and Conditions:
- The promoter and organizer of the competition are Rendezvous 2025 and IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.
- All entries become the property of the organizer once submitted.
- The judge's decision will be final and binding.
- IIT Delhi reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry at any time during the event if it is found that the entrant has not complied with the rules mentioned or has acted in a disruptive manner.
