Opportunity brief
About the Event:
The Mind Is for Sale takes you into the world of pricing and persuasion, where the labels, offers and price tags around us are built to steer our choices more than we realise. This round tests how well you can spot the psychology behind everyday buying decisions, from what we pay to why we pay it.
Expect questions on anchoring, the decoy effect, loss aversion, the sunk cost fallacy, framing, and the scarcity principle. You'll also meet ideas like choice architecture, status quo bias and libertarian paternalism, along with Richard Thaler, the Nobel-winning economist associated with them, and everyday cases like the ₹999 price tag and the cinema popcorn upgrade.
Part psychology, part marketing, this is for anyone who has ever wondered why "only a few units left" feels so urgent, or why a "limited edition" label makes a product look more valuable than it is. No prior economics knowledge needed, just curiosity.
