Opportunity brief
About the Event:
Irrationally Yours: The Behavioural Economics Quiz takes you into the quirky world of how people really make economic choices, which is often not as rationally as textbooks suggest. This round tests how well you understand the psychology behind everyday decisions, from what we buy to why we buy it.
Expect questions on nudges, anchoring, loss aversion, the sunk cost fallacy, the decoy effect, and the default bias. You'll also meet the thinkers behind them, such as Kahneman, Tversky, Thaler, and Ariely, along with classic experiments like the jam study and the free chocolate test.
Part psychology, part economics, this is for anyone who has ever wondered why a "limited time offer" feels so hard to resist, or why that crossed-out price makes a deal look better than it is. No prior economics knowledge needed, just curiosity.
