Objective

Design to Develop provides a comprehensive platform for students to demonstrate their skills across the design and development lifecycle. The event challenges participants to conceptualize, design, and develop a fully functional front-end prototype while encouraging creativity, innovation, and the practical implementation of design principles.

It also aims to foster collaboration, enhance presentation skills, and recognize excellence in both design and development.

Event Description

Design to Develop is a team-based competition that challenges participants to create a design prototype and transform it into a functional front-end application. Organized collaboratively by DOT – The Design Club and the Coding Club at IIIT Vadodara, the event consists of three phases:

Phase 1: Design and Prototyping

- Teams will create a Figma prototype based on a problem statement of their choice.

Phase 2: Design Presentation

- Teams will present their designs, explain their UX decisions, and showcase their design thinking process.

Phase 3: Front-End Development

- Teams will develop the front end of their designs using hardcoded data. Backend development is optional and will be considered an added advantage.

Participants will demonstrate creativity, design thinking, and technical skills. The best teams will be recognized for their ability to transform ideas into functional applications.
