OpenBell 2026:

OpenBell 2026 is an exclusive event by Mochatrade, in collaboration with the Finance & Investment Cell, Hansraj College.

The name says it all - "OpenBell" is a nod to the opening bell that kicks off trading on Wall Street every day. And that's exactly the spirit of this competition: participants get a taste of what it feels like to think, analyze, and make calls the way traders and investors do in the US markets.

This isn't about memorizing formulas or reciting theory. It's about reading the market, understanding business strategy, and making sharp decisions when it actually matters - the way it works on the trading floor.

Across two rounds, participants will be tested on their financial acumen, market awareness, strategic thinking, and ability to make informed calls under pressure - all built around real dynamics from the US stock market.

The Finance & Investment Cell, Hansraj College, is a student-run society focused on building financial literacy and market awareness among students. Through competitions, workshops, and speaker sessions, FIC Hansraj gives students a way to engage with finance beyond the classroom - and partnering with Mochatrade on OpenBell brings that mission a step closer to real markets.

Competition Structure:

Round 1 - Prelims | Online | 7th September

• The prelims kick off online, testing participants on financial knowledge, market awareness, and logical reasoning - with a focus on how the US markets move and why.
• Top-performing teams advance to the Mains.

Round 2 - Mains | Offline | 11th September

• This is where it gets real. Qualified teams will work through a genuine financial or investment problem - the kind that plays out in the US markets every day - and have to land on the best possible solution using analysis, strategy, and sharp thinking.
• It's also a test of composure: can you make good calls when the clock's ticking?

Eligibility:

• Open to everyone.
• Cross-disciplinary teams welcome - and encouraged.
• Teams of 1 to 2 members.
• Each participant can be part of only one team.

Competition Guidelines:

• Follow all rules and timelines set by the organizing committee.
• Plagiarism or any unfair practice leads to immediate disqualification.
• All submissions must be original work.
• Judges' and the organizing committee's decisions are final.
