SRIJAN:

SRIJAN is an AI-powered innovation competition designed to challenge students to think, build, and launch innovative technology solutions.

The competition takes participants through a journey of problem identification, ideation, product development, marketing, and pitching. Teams will use AI throughout the competition to transform an idea into a functional solution and present it as a product with real-world potential.

AI is the team's tool, not the team's replacement.

Participants are expected to demonstrate creativity, technical understanding, problem-solving ability, effective use of AI, and the ability to communicate and market their solutions.

PHASE 1 — VICHAAR | Ideation:

- Identify a problem within the assigned theme and use AI to develop a solution concept covering the problem, users, AI role, key features, and impact.

PHASE 2 — NIRMAAN | Product Development:

- Turn the Vichaar idea into a functional technology-based solution. AI can be used throughout development. Mentors will guide, but teams must build independently.

PHASE 3 — VISTAAR | Marketing & Pitching:

- Create a marketing campaign for your solution, including branding, target audience, strategy, and promotion. Finalists will pitch their problem, solution, AI integration, campaign, and impact to the jury.

AI Usage Policy:

AI is a core requirement of SRIJANand its use is compulsory throughout the competition.

However, participants must understand that AI is a tool to enhance their abilities — not replace their thinking.

Every team must be able to:

  • Explain their solution in their own words.
  • Explain their major technical and design decisions.
  • Demonstrate their working product.
  • Explain how and where AI was used.
  • Defend their marketing and campaign strategy.

Teams must maintain a simple AI Usage Log throughout the competition:

AI Tool → Prompt/Input → Output → How the team used/modified it

  • The AI Usage Log may be inspected by judges during evaluation.
  • Teams may use publicly available AI tools unless a specific restriction is announced by the organizers.
  • Simply copying AI-generated output without meaningful understanding, modification, or judgement may be penalized.

Registration:

  • Registration will be conducted through Unstop.
  • Seats are limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Registration does not automatically guarantee a seat; confirmation is subject to availability.
  • Organizers reserve the right to close registrations early once the available seats are filled.

Originality & Fair Play:

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Plagiarism
  • Unfair means
  • Accessing or interfering with another team's work, device, or materials
  • Presenting pre-built projects, templates, or solutions as work created during the competition
  • Any form of misconduct or disruptive behaviour

Violation of these rules may result in disqualification.

Devices & Technical Requirements:

Participants are responsible for arranging their own internet-enabled devices unless explicitly informed otherwise by the organizers.

Participants should bring:

  • Personal laptop
  • Laptop charger/power adapter
  • LAN adapter, if required
  • Other necessary technical gadgets/accessories
  • Valid college ID

Judging & Disputes:

  • Teams will be judged according to the criteria applicable to each phase.
  • All decisions taken by the organizing and judging committee regarding scoring, eliminations, disputes, or conduct will be final and binding.
  • Scores are final once submitted.
  • Re-evaluation requests will not normally be entertained after results are announced, except in the case of a clear procedural error.
  • In case of a tie, the team's Effective Use of AI performance will be considered as the primary tie-breaker, followed by a rapid-fire question round if required.

Recognition:

The top winning teams will be awarded trophies along with cash prizes, while all participants will receive certificates of participation in recognition of their efforts, creativity, and contribution to SRIJAN. Top-performing teams will also get the opportunity to be featured on our official social media platforms, including Instagram, to showcase their achievement and innovation.
