Opportunity brief

About the Company

Evoc Labs builds technology for the eCommerce and direct-to-consumer ecosystem, bringing together commerce infrastructure, logistics, analytics, automation, and growth tools. The team is creating practical products that help brands operate and scale efficiently. This remote internship offers motivated developers the chance to contribute to real-world, production-oriented software while learning from a product-focused engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend APIs and services using Node.js and Express.js.
  • Design and optimize MongoDB data structures with Prisma ORM.
  • Apply Redis for caching, session management, and performance improvements.
  • Build RESTful integrations with third-party services and collaborate with frontend developers on end-to-end features.
  • Debug reliability and performance issues, write clean modular code, and contribute to testing, code reviews, technical discussions, and development planning.
  • Support improvements to backend architecture, workflows, and product performance.

Requirements

  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals with an interest in full-stack development and backend engineering.
  • Good working knowledge of Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, and asynchronous programming.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of MongoDB, database design, authentication, authorization, and JWT or OAuth concepts.
  • Familiarity with Prisma ORM, Git, and GitHub; Redis knowledge is preferred.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving ability, along with the capacity to learn quickly and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Exposure to TypeScript, API integrations, Docker, cloud deployment, microservices, or eCommerce, logistics, payment, or SaaS APIs is an advantage.

During this three-month, unpaid internship, interns will gain hands-on experience with production software, scalable APIs, databases, caching, integrations, and collaborative engineering practices. The role follows a Monday-to-Saturday working schedule. A completion certificate and letter of recommendation may be provided based on contribution and performance. Strong performers may be considered for a future paid or full-time opportunity subject to business requirements.
