Overview:
TECHFEST HACKATHON 2026 is a National-level offline technical prototyping competition jointly organized by The Institution of Engineers (India) – Thiruvalluvar Local Centre and the IEI Dr. M.G.R. Students' Chapter, hosted at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute (Deemed to be University), Chennai.
Participants will tackle real-world challenges across diverse engineering domains, including AI/ML, Cloud, IoT, and Web/App frameworks. In an authentic rapid-development format, all official problem statements will be launched live on the spot at the venue during morning registration. Teams will analyze the problem statements, select their challenge on the spot, build their solution from scratch, and present a live working prototype before an expert jury panel.

- Team Size: 1 to 3 Members (Solo participation directly permitted)
- Registration / Entry Fees (Per Team):
- IEI Members: ₹1,000
- Non-IEI Members: ₹1,500
- Total Cash Prize Pool: ₹17,000
- 1st Prize (Champion Team): ₹10,000
- 2nd Prize (Runner-Up Team): ₹5,000
- 4 Special Category Awards: ₹500 each (₹2,000 total pool)
- Hospitality: Wholesome vegetarian lunch and refreshments will be provided for all registered participants
- Certificates: Printed participation certificates awarded to all verified attendees.
