Cummins is hiring for the role of Site Quality Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

- Manage applicable systems related to plant customer issues, including corrective requests. - Lead containment activities for customer and product quality issues. - Ensure products and processes meet initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, customer-specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP documentation requirements. - Support change management activities for current products and Value Package Introduction (VPI). - Support verification of products and processes to ensure key quality measures are achieved. - Analyze quality data to support decision-making and corrective actions. - Support or lead less complex quality audits. - Serve as a quality technical resource for other functional areas. - Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to prioritize continuous improvement initiatives. - Apply industry-proven methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 7-Step Problem Solving, and Intelligent Quality Tools and Methods (IQTM). - Demonstrate basic understanding and application of AIAG Core Tools. - Lead less complex Safe Launch initiatives and support Safe Launch activities through VPI.

Requirements:

- Strong customer focus with the ability to build effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver clear, audience-appropriate communication across multiple channels. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and the ability to implement changes to processes, equipment, and applications to support business needs and continuous improvement. - Ability to identify stakeholders, facilitate discussions, gather diverse perspectives, manage constructive conflict, and influence balanced decisions that incorporate quality priorities. - Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including technical quality planning and structured processes for ensuring customer satisfaction. - Knowledge of measurement science and metrology, including the ability to analyze measurement processes and identify sources of measurement uncertainty across areas such as chemical, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, optical, radiation, and physical measurement. - Strong systematic problem-solving skills using industry-standard methodologies to establish problem traceability, protect customers, determine assignable causes, implement data-driven solutions, identify systemic root causes, and prevent recurrence. - Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and coordination of APQP activities for the introduction of new or modified products and processes. - Ability to assess and ensure product readiness for production in accordance with PPAP, APQP, AIAG standards, and company procedures. - Strong project management skills, including balancing project scope, schedules, resources, and expected outcomes. - Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, capability studies, process audits, inspection, and testing. - Knowledge of quality management systems and the ability to ensure quality processes are understood, implemented, maintained, and consistently meet product and service requirements. - Strong statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistical tools and techniques to support decision-making and process improvement. - Understanding of data collection methods, statistical measures, graphical analysis, and analytical techniques for evaluating process performance. - Ability to recognize and value diverse perspectives, experiences, and cultures. - Knowledge and application of Quality 4.0 and digital quality management practices. - Ability to leverage cloud-based systems, digitization, digital twins, simulation, adaptive intelligence, and connected systems to improve quality outcomes. - Preferred degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. - Relevant minimal to intermediate work experience in a quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical environment. - May require applicable licensing or authorization for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.
