Opportunity brief

Cars24 is hiring for the role of Controllership Intern!

Responsibilities of the Intern:

  • Finance automation across businesses — build and drive finance transaction automation across India and international businesses, covering sales, purchase, payments, collections, refunds, and related finance workflows.
  • System-to-system finance journeys — understand how business events flow across source systems, APIs, middleware, accounting systems, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Finance process design — convert unstructured business and finance requirements into clear workflows, FRDs, accounting logic, exception handling, and UAT plans.Fallout resolution — identify transaction failures, root causes, reconciliation breaks, missing entries, incorrect postings, and build permanent fixes instead of manual patches.
  • Cross-functional execution — work with Finance, Product, Tech, Ops, and Business teams to move projects from ambiguity to shipped outcomes.
  • Controls and scalability — ensure automation is not just fast, but accurate, auditable, controlled, and scalable across geographies and business lines.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Finance Transformation, Product Ops, Program Management, Finance Systems, ERP implementation, fintech operations, or business analyst roles.
  • Strong ownership mindset — someone who does not wait for perfectly structured requirements and can create clarity where there is none.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — able to build the first version, align stakeholders, course-correct, and keep execution moving.
  • Product/system thinking — understands APIs, system workflows, payloads, statuses, failure scenarios, dashboards, and exception handling.
  • Finance understanding — knows basic accounting, reconciliations, controls, financial reporting impact, and why accuracy matters.
  • Execution-first approach — can run trackers, chase blockers, conduct UAT, close open items, and drive timelines without needing constant supervision.
  • Bonus: experience in SAP HANA, middleware, SQL, Python, or startup finance automation.
