Sansad Charcha 2.0

Join us for Sansad Charcha 2.0, a parliamentary-style debate competition organised by FinWin Club, Arka Jain University, and showcase your research, argumentation, public speaking, and parliamentary skills.

Participants will step into the shoes of parliamentarians and engage in structured debate, cross-questioning, rebuttals, and evidence-based discussions.

Eligibility:

• Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Students from all academic disciplines can participate.
• Participants must register according to the prescribed team structure.

Team Size:

• 3 members per team.
• All members must be from the same college/university.

Event Description:

• A parliamentary-style debate designed to simulate the spirit of the Indian Parliament.
• Participants will research, present arguments, challenge opposing viewpoints, and defend their assigned stance.
• The competition will test research, analytical thinking, argumentation, rebuttal, communication, teamwork, and parliamentary conduct.
• The specific debate topic will be communicated to registered teams on 3 October 2026.

Format:

Phase 1 – Opening Statements:

• Each team gets 4 minutes to present its assigned stance.
• Teams should support their arguments with relevant facts, data, examples, and credible sources.

Phase 2 – Open Floor Debate:

• Cross-questioning
• Counter-arguments
• Rebuttals
• Fact-based challenges
• Responses to opposing arguments

Phase 3 – Closing Statements:

- Each team gets 2 minutes to present its concluding statement.

Rules & Guidelines:

• Maintain parliamentary decorum and respectful conduct.
• Arguments must be fact-based, relevant, and logically presented.
• Personal attacks, offensive language, and discriminatory remarks are strictly prohibited.
• Participants must adhere to the allotted speaking time.
• Note-taking is allowed.
• Electronic devices must remain on silent mode.
• Participants must follow the instructions of the Moderator/Speaker and organising committee.
• Punctuality is mandatory.
• The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding.

Dress Code:

• Participants must dress according to the political party allotted to their team.
• The dress code is mandatory to maintain the parliamentary simulation.
