Opportunity brief
Roles
- Technical Content Engineer – DSA & Web Development will be responsible for building and maintaining the core technical content that powers 7CodeArena's learning and competitive programming ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of problem solving, technical concepts, content engineering, and competitive programming to create challenging, accurate, and high-quality problems for our users. The role involves designing original DSA problems, developing rigorous edge-case test suites, creating conceptual and scenario-based questions across Core CS and modern engineering domains, and structuring question banks for different learning and competition levels. You will play a key role in ensuring that every problem published on the platform is technically correct, logically sound, well-tested, appropriately difficult, and capable of genuinely evaluating a candidate's problem-solving ability. We care more about your technical thinking, debugging ability, and problem-solving skills than your academic background or fancy degrees.
Responsibility
- DSA & Problem Engineering
- Design and develop original DSA and algorithmic problems for the 7-Problem Hub.
- Create problems covering topics such as arrays, strings, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, recursion, dynamic programming, greedy algorithms, searching, sorting, and advanced data structures.
- Define clear problem statements, constraints, input/output formats, examples, and expected solutions.
- Develop comprehensive edge-case and stress test cases to ensure problem solutions are robust.
- Analyze solutions for correctness, time complexity, space complexity, and possible loopholes.
- Identify ambiguous statements, unintended shortcuts, and test cases that may allow incorrect solutions to pass.
- Debug and validate problem solutions before they are released on the platform.
- Core CS & Engineering Content
- Create conceptual and scenario-based MCQs and technical challenges for:
- Operating Systems
- DBMS
- Computer Networks
- Web Development
- DevOps
- System Design
- Design questions that test understanding and application, rather than simple memorization.
- Review existing questions and improve their accuracy, difficulty, clarity, and relevance.
- Keep technical content aligned with practical engineering concepts and industry expectations.
- Course & Question Bank Development
- Structure and curate comprehensive question modules for the platform's core course sections.
- Organize questions according to topic, concept, difficulty, skill level, and learning objective.
- Create progressive question sets that help users move from fundamentals to advanced problem solving.
- Maintain consistency in question formats, explanations, terminology, and technical standards.
- Competitive Match Content
- Create and bundle problem sets for live competitive matches.
- Design balanced problem sets across multiple difficulty levels:
- Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond → Master → Legend.
- Ensure each competition has an appropriate mix of conceptual, implementation, analytical, and edge-case-heavy problems.
- Evaluate problem difficulty through testing, solution analysis, and actual participant performance.
- Continuously improve problems based on user feedback, submission patterns, and contest performance.
- Quality Assurance
- Review every problem and test case before publication.
- Perform extensive testing against:
- Boundary conditions
- Empty/minimum/maximum inputs
- Duplicate values
- Large datasets
- Invalid assumptions
- Integer overflow
- Time-limit issues
- Memory-limit issues
- Unexpected input patterns
- Maintain high standards for accuracy, originality, fairness, and difficulty calibration.
Requirements
- Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) OR strong practical expertise in one or more of:
- Web Development
- DevOps
- System Design
- Core Computer Science
- Strong understanding of algorithmic thinking and computational complexity.
- Ability to analyze solutions and identify logical and implementation flaws.
- Strong debugging and code-review skills.
- Ability to create difficult and meaningful edge cases and stress tests.
- Good understanding of technical concepts rather than purely theoretical memorization.
- Problem-Solving Mindset
- Strong analytical and logical thinking.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Naturally curious about "what can go wrong?"
- Ability to think of unusual inputs and failure scenarios.
- Passion for creating challenging problems that test genuine understanding.
- Comfortable reviewing the same problem multiple times to eliminate ambiguity and loopholes.
- Ability to independently research and learn unfamiliar technical concepts when required.
- Content Skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, structured, and precise manner.
- Strong ability to write clear problem statements and technical questions.
- Ability to distinguish between questions that test understanding and questions that merely test memorization.
- Ability to organize large technical question sets logically.
- Language & Communication
- Indian Citizen.
- Fluent in Hindi.
- English proficiency sufficient to understand technical documentation, programming concepts, code, and existing technical resources; high-level English writing is not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly in Hindi and/or simple English.
- Education
- No specific degree is mandatory.
- We value demonstrated technical ability, practical problem-solving skills, competitive programming experience, projects, technical contributions, or a strong personal portfolio over academic credentials.
- Good-to-Have
- Experience with competitive programming platforms or coding contests.
- Experience creating DSA problems, coding challenges, MCQs, or technical assessments.
- Experience with platforms such as LeetCode, Codeforces, CodeChef, HackerRank, or similar.
- Experience with test-case generation and automated judging systems.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Practical experience in Web Development, DevOps, System Design, OS, DBMS, or Computer Networks.
- Experience reviewing code or mentoring other developers/students.
- What We Value Most
- We don't hire based on fancy degrees. We hire problem solvers.
- If you enjoy breaking solutions, finding the edge case nobody thought about, debugging tricky logic, and asking "Will this actually work for every possible input?" — this role is for you.
