Roles

  • Join 7CodeArena's engineering team as a Software Engineering Intern – Frontend and help ensure our real-time web platform performs reliably under heavy loads.
  • You'll work closely with Core Engineering to test frontend experiences, validate REST APIs, identify bugs, verify fixes, and help build reliable testing workflows for real-time features such as WebSockets, data caching, and authentication flows.
  • This role is ideal for someone who enjoys debugging, breaking things, finding edge cases, and improving product quality. We value practical skills, problem-solving ability, and portfolio work over fancy degrees.

Responsibility

  • Test Real-Time Interfaces: Work with engineering to ensure dashboards and frontend experiences remain stable and responsive under heavy loads.
  • API Testing: Test REST APIs for correct status codes, response times, authentication behavior, and accurate payload delivery.
  • Bug Detection & Tracking: Identify, reproduce, document, and track software bugs and UI/UX inconsistencies.
  • Regression Testing: Collaborate with Core Engineering to verify bug fixes and ensure existing functionality isn't affected by new changes.
  • Frontend Validation: Test user flows across different browsers, screen sizes, and interaction states.
  • Real-Time Testing: Help test WebSocket connections, live data updates, reconnection behavior, and real-time dashboard functionality.
  • Caching & Auth Testing: Help map and test data-caching workflows, session handling, authentication loops, and protected routes.
  • Test Automation: Assist in creating and improving automated tests using tools such as Playwright or similar frameworks.
  • Quality Improvement: Work with developers to identify recurring issues and suggest practical improvements to product reliability.

Requirements

  • Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of the MERN stack — MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
  • Comfortable working with React-based web applications and understanding basic frontend workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON payloads, and API responses.
  • Familiarity with Postman, Playwright, Cypress, or similar testing tools is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Git/GitHub and standard development workflows.
  • Understanding of browser DevTools, network requests, console errors, and basic debugging is a plus.
  • Exposure to WebSockets, authentication, caching, or real-time applications is an advantage.
  • Mindset & Soft Skills
  • Strong debugging instincts and the ability to think beyond the happy path.
  • Excellent attention to detail when testing interfaces and user flows.
  • A genuine interest in breaking software, finding edge cases, and uncovering hidden bugs.
  • Ability to reproduce problems clearly and communicate them to engineers.
  • Willingness to learn, experiment, and work closely with the Core Engineering team.
  • Practical skills and portfolio projects are valued more than formal degrees.
  • Eligibility
  • Citizenship: Indian Citizen.
