WSP is hiring for the role of Consultant - Data Analysis!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Perform routine maintenance of financial and operational datasets.
  • Monitor and validate data used within reporting solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues.
  • Execute regular reconciliation and validation checks.
  • Support the maintenance of master data, hierarchies, and reference tables.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive validation activities.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing Power BI dashboards.
  • Build and maintain simple Power BI data models using established standards.
  • Develop basic reports and visualisations to support business requirements.
  • Assist with dashboard testing and deployment activities.
  • Support month-end and forecast reporting processes.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, user guides, and operating procedures.
  • Document data flows, data definitions, and reporting logic.
  • Support data governance and control activities.
  • Assist with maintaining reporting catalogues and knowledge repositories.
  • Develop simple tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data validation activities.
  • Assist in the creation of automated reconciliation and exception reporting.
  • Support process improvement initiatives across reporting and analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation.
  • Respond to day-to-day reporting and data queries.
  • Work with finance and operational stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
  • Assist in testing new reporting enhancements and system changes.
  • Support ad-hoc analytical and reporting projects.

Requirements:

  • Power BI - Optional.
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts and relationships.
  • Good knowledge of Excel including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • Power Query
  • Lookup functions
  • Data validation techniques
  • Basic SQL skills. - optional
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Understanding of data quality and reconciliation processes.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify anomalies and investigate root causes.
  • Logical and structured problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to turn business requirements into simple reporting solutions.

  • Highly organised and methodical.
  • Strong written documentation skills.
