Opportunity brief
JEOPARDIZE is an exciting quiz-based competition organized by the Visual Bloggers' Club as part of Pre-graVITas 2026. Inspired by the iconic Jeopardy! format, the event combines general knowledge, quick thinking, strategy, risk assessment, and decision-making.
Unlike a conventional quiz, participants are presented with answers and must formulate the correct questions. Teams will compete across multiple rounds, strategically manage their points, use lifelines, and make calculated decisions to emerge as the ultimate winner.
Event Format:
Round 1 – Introduction & Briefing
A 5-minute briefing covering the event format, rules, scoring system, lifelines, answering procedure, and elimination criteria.
Round 2 – Buzzer Round
A 5-minute quick-fire round where teams compete to answer questions using the buzzer. The fastest team to answer correctly earns the opportunity to select the first category and question in the Main Jeopardize Round.
Round 3 – Main Jeopardize Round
The main 25–30 minute round consists of 6 categories with 5 questions each. Teams strategically select questions from the board, with point values increasing according to difficulty.
- Each question must be answered within 30 seconds.
- Each team starts with 10,000 points.
- Teams have 2 lifelines available during this round.
- Teams must attempt a minimum of 8 questions.
- After an incorrect answer, the value of the next question doubles until a correct answer is given.
- A team is eliminated after 3 incorrect answers.
Round 4 – Final Auction Round
A 10-minute strategic bidding round where teams use their remaining points to bid for the opportunity to answer randomly selected questions.
The highest bidder gets the first opportunity to answer. If the answer is incorrect, the question passes to the next highest bidder. A correct answer allows the winning team to gain the bid points from the other participating teams.
Round 5 – Results & Closing Ceremony
A 5-minute closing session for final score calculation, winner announcement, prize distribution, and a group photograph.
