Opportunity brief

Objective

Develop an innovative antenna solution in Simcenter FEKO for emerging applications.

About the Contest

ANTENNOVATE 2026 invites students to design innovative antennas in Simcenter FEKO for emerging wireless applications. Participants will develop, simulate, and optimize antenna designs for technologies such as 5G/6G, V2X communication, advanced sensing, or satellite systems, and present their work through performance metrics, radiation characteristics, and technical analysis.

Challenge

Develop and optimize an antenna in Simcenter FEKO for emerging applications such as 5G/6G, V2X communication, and advanced sensing systems. Your project should demonstrate target performance and measurable results through electromagnetic simulation and analysis.

Registration

  • All participants must fill out the registration form and join the WhatsApp group provided in the form.
  • WhatsApp Group: Antennovate 2026 WhatsApp Group

Guidelines

  • The project must be developed entirely in Simcenter FEKO, including antenna modeling, simulation setup, parameter definition, optimization if used, result visualization, and performance validation.
  • Submissions must be original. If you reference an existing antenna design, research paper, or industry-standard topology, cite the source and clearly describe your modifications, improvements, or implementation approach.
  • Clearly specify:
  • Target application such as 5G/6G, V2X, satellite communication, radar, IoT, or sensing.
  • Operating frequency or frequency range.
  • Antenna type and configuration.
  • Key design constraints and objectives.
  • Provide simulation details including:
  • Materials and substrate properties, if applicable.
  • Feed mechanism and excitation parameters.
  • Boundary conditions and solver settings.
  • Assumptions made during modeling and analysis.
  • Final submissions should demonstrate how the design addresses a real-world wireless or electromagnetic challenge and include technical analysis supported by FEKO simulation results.

Submissions

A submission form will be circulated close to the submission date. Upload a single ZIP file containing:

  • .out file (Antenna model file)
  • .cfx file (Pre-processing)
  • .pfs file (Post-processing)
  • YouTube video link (Demo and explanation)
  • PowerPoint presentation
  • Report covering the summary, methodology, assumptions, and key results

File naming format: Name_College_ANT_FEKO.zip

Eligibility

  • Open to individual students.
  • Original submissions only.
