Opportunity brief

Project Contest is a multidisciplinary project innovation competition that provides students with a platform to transform innovative ideas into practical and impactful projects. The competition consists of two rounds, progressing from idea submission and evaluation to project presentation and demonstration.

Guidelines:

  • Team Size: Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members.
  • Eligibility: Open to students from all domains of Engineering, Science, and Technology.
  • Inter-College Teams: Allowed.
  • Inter-Department Teams: Allowed and encouraged to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Project Categories: Both hardware and software projects are eligible.
  • Academic Year: Students from all academic years are eligible to participate.
  • Each team can submit one project/idea.
  • The submitted project must be the original work of the participating team. Plagiarism, copying, or misrepresentation of project work may result in disqualification.
  • Participants are responsible for arranging the hardware, components, software, and other materials required for their project demonstration.
  • Teams must follow all instructions provided by the event organizers and jury panel.
  • The decision of the jury will be final.
  • All participants will receive participation certificates.

Round 1 – Ideate (Pre-Screening Round):

  • Teams are required to submit a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) before the specified deadline.
  • The PPT should clearly present the problem statement, proposed solution, implementation approach, and expected outcome.
  • Each team can submit one project/idea.
  • The submitted ideas will be evaluated by the review committee.
  • Teams shortlisted by the review committee will qualify for Round 2.

Round 2 – Build & Present (Final Round):

  • Only teams shortlisted from Round 1 are eligible to participate in Round 2.
  • Shortlisted teams must take the CONVERGENCE 2k26 PASS to participate in the Round 2 on-campus event.
  • Teams must bring and present their working project, prototype, or functional software before the jury panel.
  • Teams should explain their design concept, working principle, implementation, and societal or industrial impact.
  • This round will involve project presentation, live demonstration, and evaluation by the jury panel.
