Overview

FusioniX 2026 is a 24-hour national-level hybrid hackathon organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (IoT), University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.

Unlike traditional software-only hackathons, FusioniX focuses on solving real-world engineering challenges by integrating hardware and software into innovative, practical solutions. Participants will build complete working prototypes that demonstrate creativity, technical excellence, and real-world impact.

Whether you're passionate about IoT, AI, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Full Stack Development, Cloud Computing, Computer Vision, or Smart Automation, FusioniX provides the perfect platform to transform your ideas into reality.

Prize Pool

  • Win exciting prizes worth ₹50,000.
  • Top-performing teams will compete for a total prize pool of ₹30,000, along with certificates, recognition, goodies, swags, networking opportunities with mentors and industry experts, and the chance to showcase innovative engineering solutions.

Team Size

  • 3–4 members per team.
  • Registration is free.

- 24 Hours.

  • Round 1 – Online.
  • Final Hackathon (Rounds 2 & 3) – Offline at UEM Kolkata.

Eligibility

Students currently pursuing:

  • B.Tech / B.E.
  • M.Tech / M.E.
  • Engineering or Technology programs from recognized institutions.
  • Students from any engineering specialization are welcome.
  • Inter-college teams are allowed.

Competition Format

Round 1 – Concept Qualifier (Online)

Teams submit:

  • A minimum 5-slide Pitch Deck (PPT/PDF) including:
  • Team Introduction
  • Problem Analysis
  • Proposed Solution
  • Hardware & Software Architecture
  • Technology Stack

Evaluation Parameters

  • Clarity of Presentation.

Round 2 — Hybrid Build & Final Offline RoundTeams will work on their complete solution by assembling hardware, developing software, designing the system architecture, integrating components, testing, debugging, and preparing a working prototype.

As this is a hybrid competition, teams may use hardware, software, or a combination of both according to their project requirements.

Participants should bring their own hardware whenever possible. Limited hardware support may be available.

Teams must complete and demonstrate their working solution during this round and submit the final source code, documentation, and required project deliverables before the deadline.

AI Usage Policy

FusioniX encourages participants to leverage modern AI tools responsibly.

Participants may use AI assistants such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or similar tools for learning, debugging, brainstorming, documentation, or improving productivity.

However:

  • AI must not replace genuine problem-solving.
  • Blind copy-pasting of AI-generated code without understanding is prohibited.
  • Projects consisting primarily of AI-generated or plagiarized content will be disqualified.
  • Judges may ask technical questions to verify each team's understanding of their implementation.

Innovation and originality will carry significant weight during evaluation.

General Rules

  • All major development must be carried out during the hackathon.
  • Teams must work independently.
  • Pre-built complete solutions are not allowed.
  • Participants must bring their own laptops.
  • Internet, workspace, power supply, meals, and accommodation (where applicable) will be provided.
  • Organizers reserve the right to modify schedules if required.
  • The decision of the judging panel shall be final.
