Opportunity brief
Role:
We are looking for a Python Backend Developer to develop and maintain our e-commerce backend web portal using Python, Django and Django Oscar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend modules using Python & Django.
- Customize and enhance Django Oscar e-commerce modules if needed.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs.
- Work on e-commerce modules like Products, Catalogue, Inventory, Cart, Orders, Customers, Offers, Gift Cards and Checkout.
- Integrate or modify third-party APIs such as Payment, Courier, ERP and other services.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and database operations.
- Debug and resolve application/production issues.
- Work with frontend, QA teams.
- Maintain clean, reusable and well-documented code.
- Postman / API testing/ Unit testing
Required Skills:

- Basic Linux knowledge
Good to Have:
- E-commerce domain experience
- Redis / Celery
- Solr / Elasticsearch / Haystack
- Docker / AWS basics
- Basic AI / Generative AI knowledge and practical usage
Candidate Profile:
- 1–3 years of hands-on Python/Django experience.
- Good programming and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of APIs, databases and e-commerce workflows.
- Ability to understand and modify existing code.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
