Opportunity brief
QueryQuest is a technical competition organised by HackerRank Campus Crew, NIE Mysuru, designed to test participants' SQL knowledge, database concepts and problem-solving abilities.
The challenge provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding of SQL through practical coding problems and multiple-choice questions across different difficulty levels.
Competition Format
The competition will consist of 10 questions to be completed within a total time limit of 100 minutes.
The question distribution will be:
- SQL Basic – 4 Questions
- SQL Intermediate – 3 Questions
- SQL Advanced – 1 Question
- SQL Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) – 2 Questions
Rules and Guidelines
- The competition will be conducted online through the HackerRank platform. - Participants must complete all questions within the allotted 100 minutes. - Participants must use their own HackerRank accounts to access the challenge. - All submitted SQL solutions must satisfy the given problem requirements and test cases. - Participants must not share solutions, collaborate with other participants or engage in any unfair practices during the competition. - The use of external assistance or AI tools during the competition is not permitted. - Participants must ensure a stable internet connection throughout the challenge. - Tie-breaker: If two or more participants achieve the same score, the participant who completes the assessment in the shortest time will be ranked higher. For example, if two participants achieve the same score, but Participant 1 finishes at 10:00 AM and Participant 2 finishes at 11:00 AM, Participant 1 will be ranked higher. - The organisers' decision regarding the results and rewards will be final.
Eligibility
- Open to college students interested in SQL, databases and problem-solving.
- Participants from all engineering branches and academic years are welcome.
- Basic knowledge of SQL is recommended.

Evaluation Process
Participants will be evaluated based on the correctness of their submitted solutions and their performance in the competition. The final rankings will be determined based on the competition results.
