About the Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer Intern to build and scale modern AI-powered products and developer platforms. You will work across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and third-party AI integrations to turn product ideas into reliable, production-ready applications.
Inspired by modern AI developer platforms such as OpenRouter, this role focuses on building seamless developer experiences, integrating multiple AI models and APIs, developing scalable backend services, and creating intuitive interfaces for discovering, using, and managing AI capabilities.
You will work closely with the product and engineering teams, take ownership of end-to-end features, and gain hands-on experience building real-world AI products in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Build responsive, high-quality web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
- Develop frontend interfaces, dashboards, search experiences, admin panels, and developer-facing tools.
- Build scalable backend services, REST APIs, database schemas, and application logic.
- Integrate LLM APIs and AI services from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and OpenRouter.
- Implement authentication, authorization, API key management, and secure user workflows.
- Develop features for AI-powered search, discovery, recommendations, and intelligent automation.
- Design and optimize database queries, caching, background jobs, and asynchronous workflows.
- Build integrations with third-party APIs, webhooks, and external data sources.
- Implement streaming AI responses, structured outputs, and tool-calling workflows where required.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable code and participate in code reviews.
- Debug application issues, improve performance, and ensure reliability across the stack.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into working features.
- Take ownership of assigned features from development and testing through deployment.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with React and Next.js.
- Working knowledge of backend development using Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or NestJS.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database; familiarity with ORMs such as Prisma or Drizzle is a plus.
- Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Familiarity with responsive design, modern CSS, and component-based UI development.
- Basic understanding of LLM APIs and experience building at least one AI-powered application.
- Familiarity with Docker, cloud deployment, CI/CD, or automated testing is an advantage.
- Ability to independently debug problems, learn unfamiliar technologies, and deliver working software.
- A strong project portfolio demonstrating actual applications, preferably with live demos and GitHub repositories.
Good to Have
- Experience integrating OpenRouter or other multi-model LLM APIs.
- Familiarity with AI SDKs, streaming responses, function calling, and agentic workflows.
- Experience with Redis, background queues, WebSockets, or server-sent events (SSE).
- Familiarity with AWS, Vercel, Cloudflare, or similar deployment platforms.
- Experience building developer tools, SaaS products, analytics dashboards, or AI-native applications.
