Swiss Re is hiring for the role of Junior Associate!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Support P&C underwriting activities through accurate capture and validation of loss, exposure, and submission data
  • Process end-to-end submissions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), business rules, and operational controls
  • Consistently meet Turnaround Times (TATs), SLAs, and quality benchmarks to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Manage high-volume processing and time-sensitive business requests, including backlog prioritization
  • Extract, cleanse, validate, and analyse large datasets from both structured and unstructured sources
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues including inconsistencies, missing information, and duplicates
  • Deliver accurate outputs and insights to support pricing, experience rating, and risk assessment activities
  • Contribute to ad-hoc reporting, portfolio reviews, and analytical requests as needed
  • Collaborate closely with Underwriters, Actuaries, and cross-functional teams across global regions
  • Proactively communicate status updates and escalate risks, delays, or data issues in a timely manner
  • Participate actively in meetings, document action items clearly, and ensure follow-ups are completed within agreed timelines
  • Maintain a strong customer orientation and professional communication standards at all times
  • Identify operational pain points and contribute ideas and solutions to process improvement initiatives
  • Support automation and efficiency projects using tools such as Excel, Python, and GenAI
  • Participate in QC reviews, UAT cycles, and project rollouts, documenting key findings and learnings

Requirements:

  • Strong MS Excel proficiency with demonstrated confidence in handling, analysing, and validating large datasets
  • 1–2 years of experience in operations, analytics, data management, insurance, or a similar business support function
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, MS Access, or Power BI for data processing and reporting
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools and an interest in applying them to operational workflows
  • Insurance or Reinsurance knowledge, particularly in Property & Casualty lines of business
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven operations environment with SLA/TAT accountability
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with cross-functional or global teams
  • A growth mindset - adaptable, positive, and eager to contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives
