FINSMART is an entrepreneurship simulation event conducted as part of Startup Summit 2.0 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Designed to test strategic thinking, financial decision-making, and problem-solving skills, FINSMART challenges participants to think like startup founders managing limited resources in dynamic, real-world situations.

FINSMART is more than just a competition—it's a hands-on entrepreneurial experience. Participants receive a fixed virtual budget along with a real-world business challenge. Every financial decision matters, and teams must justify how they allocate resources while balancing innovation, impact, and sustainability.

- Challenge Briefing: Teams will receive a startup scenario along with a fixed virtual budget and defined objectives.
- Budget Planning: Teams will prepare a financial plan by allocating their budget across key operational areas while maximizing impact and sustainability.
- Curveball Round: Unexpected changes will be introduced, requiring teams to revise their financial plans and adapt their strategy.
- Final Pitch: Teams will present their budgeting strategy, decision-making process, and overall solution before the judging panel.
- Q&A and Evaluation: Judges will evaluate each team's financial reasoning, adaptability, innovation, feasibility, and overall business understanding through an interactive discussion.
Workflow of FINSMART:
- Each team will receive a predefined virtual budget.
- All financial decisions must remain within the allocated budget unless modified by an event twist.
- Teams must achieve the given objectives while maximizing the overall outcome.
- Strong financial reasoning and creative justification will be key evaluation criteria.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Each team must consist of 2 members.
- Teams may include members from multidisciplinary backgrounds.
- Participants must work within the constraints provided in the challenge.
- All financial decisions must be realistic and logically justified.
- Creativity, strategic thinking, and adaptability will be rewarded.
- The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
