About:

  • Resolve'26 is a National-Level Game Jam organized by the Developer Network Space (DNS), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus.
  • Whether you're passionate about game development, programming, design, storytelling, art, music, or innovation, Resolve'26 is your opportunity to turn ideas into playable experiences and challenge yourself alongside developers from across India.
  • Resolve'26 features two participation tracks — Competition Pass and Full Pass, giving participants different ways to experience the Game Jam.
  • Participants will conceptualize, design, develop, and present original games while responding to themes, challenges, and time constraints designed to test their creativity, adaptability, and game-development skills.

Theme:

  • For Competition Pass participants, the initial Game Jam theme will be released on:
  • 22 August 2026
  • Participants will develop their game based on the announced theme and submit it online.
  • During the offline finale, shortlisted Competition Pass teams will receive a Twisted Theme and will have to adapt their existing game to incorporate the new challenge.

Event Format:

Phase 1 — Online Game Development

  • 22 August – 24 August 2026
  • The official Game Jam theme will be released on 22 August 2026.
  • Competition Pass participants will develop their game based on the theme and submit it through the Google Form shared in the official WhatsApp group.
  • Submission Deadline:

24 August 2026 | 11:59 PM

  • The shortlisted teams and waiting list will be announced by 27 August 2026.
  • The submission deadline may be extended depending on the number of registrations.

Phase 2 — Offline Game Jam

- 31 August – 1 September 2026

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus

- The offline phase begins after the inauguration on 31 August 2026.

Competition Pass:

  • Shortlisted Competition Pass teams will receive a Twisted Theme after the inauguration.
  • Teams must modify their previously developed game and incorporate the twisted theme into their existing game within the allotted time.

Full Pass:

  • Full Pass participants will attend a Game Development Training/Orientation after the inauguration.
  • The session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of game development, game design, development workflow, and how a playable game can be built.
  • Participants will then begin developing their game from scratch during the offline Game Jam.

Final Submission:

  • Both tracks must submit their final games by:
  • 1 September 2026 | 9:00 AM
  • All submission links and detailed instructions will be shared through the official WhatsApp group.

Final Presentation & Voting:

Following the final submission, the games will be presented and evaluated.

Online Voting:

  • 1 September 2026 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • An online voting process will be conducted based on the final game submissions and presentations.
  • For the Competition Pass, the voting process will be used to shortlist the games for final evaluation.
  • The final winners will be finalized by approximately:
  • 12:00 PM
  • The jury will determine the winners along with Special Mentions and other awards.
  • The Full Pass track will have a separate evaluation and prize category.

Valedictory & Prize Distribution

  • 1 September 2026 | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • The event will conclude with the Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution, where the winners and special award recipients will be recognized.

Eligibility:

  • Open to students from colleges and universities across India.
  • Students from both engineering and non-engineering disciplines are welcome.
  • Participants with an interest in game development, programming, design, art, storytelling, music, or innovation are encouraged to participate.
  • Each team must consist of exactly 3 members.
  • Each team must select one pass type — Competition Pass or Full Pass.

Team Size:

  • Exactly 3 members per team.
  • Cross-college teams are welcome, subject to the event rules.

What Can You Build?

Participants are free to create games for platforms such as:

  • PC
  • Mobile
  • Web
  • VR/AR
  • 2D games
  • 3D games

Teams may use game engines, frameworks, and development tools of their choice, including:

  • Unity
  • Unreal Engine
  • Godot
  • Construct
  • Phaser
  • Other suitable game-development frameworks or custom technologies

Judging Criteria:

Games may be evaluated based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Theme interpretation
  • Gameplay experience
  • Technical implementation
  • Visual and audio design
  • Innovation
  • Overall polish
  • Presentation and demonstration

- Initial Game Jam theme released for Competition Pass

  • Resolve'26 Inauguration

All eligible participants will receive participation certificates, subject to the event rules.

Registration & Submission:

  • All participants must complete the official registration process through the Google Form:
  • Further submission forms, announcements, instructions, and updates will be shared through the official Resolve'26 WhatsApp group.

Rules:

  • Every participating team must register through the official Google Form.
  • Each team must consist of exactly 3 members.
  • Every submission must be original and created by the participating team.
  • Plagiarism, unauthorized use of copyrighted material, or submission of someone else's work will result in disqualification.
  • Any pre-existing assets used in the game must be disclosed where required.
  • AI tools may be used subject to the event guidelines and specific challenge requirements.
  • Teams must follow all submission deadlines and instructions communicated by the organizing committee.
  • Teams participating in the Competition Pass must modify their submitted game according to the Twisted Theme during the offline round.
  • Competition Pass and Full Pass participants will be evaluated under their respective tracks.
  • The decision of the Organizing Committee and Jury shall be final and binding.
