Opportunity brief
Disaster is coming, and you don't know what, when or how bad. Disastrix puts your team in charge of an Indian city and tests how well you read the news, manage a limited budget and outsmart rival teams under pressure.
Trust the wrong headline and you'll pay for it. Spend smartly and your city survives.
Team Details
- Team size: 2-4 members
- Teams: Each team running one city
- Unique cities: Every city has its own population, budget, strengths and weaknesses, so no two teams play the same game.
- Allocation: Cities are assigned by the organisers at the start of the event.
Competition Structure
3 rounds | about 90 minutes. Each round follows the same loop:
- News: Two articles, one real and one rumour. Decide which to trust.
- Auction: Bid secretly for limited protection cards.
- Disaster: The host announces what has struck.
- Challenge: Win a live challenge to earn a free protection Upgrade.
- Impact: Scorers calculate how much of each city's population survived.
Round 1: Rapid-fire quiz
Round 2: Build-and-survive challenge
Round 3: Communication challenge, plus one surprise
The winner: the team with the highest population after Round 3. The team that reads the news best also earns the title of Smartest Analyst.
Basic Guidelines
- Teams must have 2-4 members.
- Participants must carry their college ID cards for the event.
- Cities are assigned by the organisers and cannot be swapped.
- Bids must be sealed, within budget and submitted on time. Late bids are void.
- Fairness rules are built in, so a bigger city is not automatically an advantage.
- Follow the host's instructions and play fair at all times.
- Any malpractice or use of unfair means will lead to immediate disqualification.
- The organisers' decision is final and binding.
Think fast. Trust wisely. Spend smart. Time is ticking.
