Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Ownership:
- Lead complete production execution from receipt of approved drawings to final machine dispatch and site commissioning.
- Develop detailed production plans aligned with project schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Ensure seamless coordination between Design, Purchase, Vendors, Manufacturing, Quality, Panel Engineering, Machine Wiring, and PLC/SCADA Programming teams.
Manufacturing & Assembly Management:
- Oversee fabrication, machining, surface treatment, assembly, and integration of SPMs.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and resources efficiently across multiple projects.
- Drive adherence to engineering drawings, maintain tolerance, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Monitor productivity, reduce rework, and control manufacturing costs.
Testing & Quality Control:
- Coordinate internal trials, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and validation processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Address deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Site Commissioning & Handover:
- Support and oversee installation and commissioning activities at customer locations.
- Coordinate with service and project teams to ensure smooth machine handover.
- Ensure closure of MOM points before final sign-off.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Establish production KPIs and monitor performance metrics.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and shop floor discipline.
- Maintain proper production documentation, reports, and audit compliance.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Develop skill enhancement plans and build a high-performance production team.
- Foster accountability, ownership, and execution discipline.
Key Competencies:
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong technical expertise in understanding engineering drawings with tolerance and accuracy, manufacturing processes of mechanical fabrication, machining, heat treatment, surface treatment, assembly, pneumatics, hydraulic circuits, and their components.
- Must have a proven record in SPM/custom-built machine manufacturing processes.
- Multi-disciplinary team handling.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong planning and problem-solving capability.
- Cost control and budget monitoring experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools.
- Working knowledge of ISO standards and structured quality systems and documentation.
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 1–5 years of experience in the SPM / automation/ machine manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role.
