  • The role will be responsible for reviewing individual cases, assessing the proposed pleadings, settlement arrangements, and ensuring proper documentation is available and provided as the case demands.
  • They will act as cross-functional liaison between our external litigation network, and SoFi's in-house counsel, in legal matters that straddle both sides (like a customer's motion to compel arbitration), and will be expected to have regular engagements with internal partners including, Compliance, Finance, Internal Audit, and Third Party Risk Management.
  • They will work with our Recovery analyst to track performance at the network, state, and product level, introducing key industry metrics/KPIs and delivering regular portfolio reporting to management.
  • They will evaluate our current litigation engagement model with an eye to improving our internal processes and platforms, identifying workflow gaps and implementing operational enhancements to further our efficiency.
  • They will demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines

What you'll need:

  • 5 years minimum litigation paralegal experience, preferably managing a caseload of defaulted consumer loans at a FinTech or large bank, or at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies
  • Significant experience on a litigation case management platform similar to Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or a relational database used to manage litigation caseload.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.  Stellar written and verbal communication, and a keen attention to detail.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Convoke's suite of products, ideally Convoke Origin, Pulse and CRM
  • Knowledge of litigation scoring models and the variables that inform their performance.  Experience executing post judgement remedies (liens, garnishments, dormant judgement sales etc.)
