Opportunity brief

About the Company

SecuraEdge Financials is an accounting and advisory firm serving realtors and Personal Real Estate Corporation (PREC) owners across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia in Canada. Operating from Bangalore, the firm provides bookkeeping, tax, and fractional CFO services. SecuraEdge is transitioning from manual bookkeeping to AI-driven, automated workflows and is building a more structured internal technology stack to improve how its team serves clients.

Responsibilities

  • Map the current bookkeeping workflow end to end with the team and identify the highest-value steps to automate.
  • Connect QuickBooks Online Canada, Dext, WellyBox, and other applications using integration platforms such as Composio, APIs, or MCP connectors.
  • Build and test AI-driven automations with Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and evaluate alternatives such as ChatGPT and Grok for different tasks.
  • Convert bookkeeping policies covering categorization, receipt matching, and reconciliation checks into automated logic, scripts, or agent instructions.
  • Run workflows on test client files, measure accuracy, refine the automations, and prepare them for live use.
  • Document workflows clearly so the team can operate and maintain them after the internship.
  • Set up a shared planning calendar that accounts for IST and Canadian time zones.
  • Build a team planner for task assignments, deadlines, and capacity tracking.
  • Organize Trello boards for client work, month-end close, tax season, and internal projects.
  • Create templates, naming conventions, and practical how-to guides for consistent team adoption.

Requirements

  • Student or recent graduate in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field; other backgrounds are welcome if supported by relevant projects.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or similar, beyond casual use, including agents, prompt workflows, or automations.
  • Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript and comfort with REST APIs and JSON.
  • Familiarity with Composio, Zapier, Make, n8n, or comparable automation and integration platforms.
  • Ability to break down messy manual processes into clear, automatable steps.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, testing, and documentation skills.

Prior AI automation projects, a GitHub repository, a demo video, or a technical write-up are valuable. Exposure to QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, MCP, Claude Code, agentic AI workflows, Trello, Microsoft 365, or Google Workspace is also helpful.

Other Details

  • This is a paid, full-time, in-office internship in Bangalore for 3 months, with flexibility around the exact internship term. The monthly stipend is ₹15,000–₹20,000 and is negotiable based on the selected candidate's skills and experience.
  • The intern will receive a company computer and work on firm systems. Because the role involves sensitive client financial data, signing a confidentiality or NDA agreement is required. Coordination with Canada-based workflows may occasionally require flexibility in working hours.
  • Benefits include real-world experience building AI automation for a live business, direct mentorship from the firm's founder, freedom to compare leading AI tools and platforms, a strong letter of recommendation for good performance, and possible extension or a longer-term opportunity based on results.
