Opportunity brief
About the Role
SMJSS runs multiple programs and campaigns at once - education, health, nutrition, livelihood training, and community outreach- each with its own team, timeline and moving parts. We're looking for a Project Coordinator to help hold this together: tracking progress, following up on pending work, and making sure tasks across teams don't fall through the cracks. This role sits close to the founder and works across every other team, making it ideal for someone who likes seeing the whole picture rather than just one slice of it.
What You Will Work On
- Track ongoing projects, deadlines and deliverables across the content, design, outreach and HR teams
- Maintain and update task logs, schedules and internal documentation
- Coordinate communication between volunteers, interns and the founder
- Follow up on pending action items and proactively flag delays or gaps
- Help structure new initiatives into clear, trackable task lists
- Support light reporting on project status for internal review
Who We Are Looking For
- Highly organized, with strong attention to follow-through and detail
- Comfortable using spreadsheets/task trackers (Google Sheets, Excel, Notion, or similar)
- Clear, proactive communicator — comfortable nudging people for updates
- Able to manage multiple threads/projects at once without losing track
- Interested in how a social-impact organization actually runs day to day
What You Will Gain
- Hands-on experience in project/program coordination at a real NGO
- Direct visibility into how every team at SMJSS operates
- A completion certificate and letter of recommendation
- Ownership of real coordination systems, not just predefined tasks
