Role Overview
The Video Editor at Peblo will be responsible for finalizing and elevating AI-generated and traditional video content for our educational platform. The role combines post-production expertise with creativity and a strong understanding of engaging content for young audiences.
Working closely with writers, educators, and designers, you will create high-quality videos enriched with audio, sound effects, background scores, VFX, and graphics, ensuring a seamless and engaging viewing experience for children aged 5–12.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the post-production process, refining video projects generated through AI and other creative tools.
- Edit, master, and enhance videos with appropriate music, sound effects, graphics, and visual elements.
- Remove abrupt cuts, refine transitions, and maintain consistent audio and visual quality.
- Collaborate with writers, educators, and designers to visually interpret scripts and learning objectives.
- Adapt visual and audio elements to reflect Peblo's educational mission and bring culturally relevant stories to life.
- Integrate background music, SFX, VFX, and other elements to strengthen storytelling and engagement.
- Incorporate feedback quickly and iterate on content in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, tools, and techniques in video editing, VFX, and sound design for children's media.
- Contribute to style guides and help establish post-production standards for a national audience.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Experience with sound design and audio editing tools.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating video editing, audio, and visual effects work, preferably for children's content, education, or digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of transitions, pacing, rough-cut refinement, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to use background music and sound effects effectively to enhance storytelling.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver quick turnarounds.
- Comfortable working in a high-ownership and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Indian cultural contexts and the ability to create content that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Strong remote communication and collaboration skills.
