Opportunity brief

ReNew, a leading decarbonization solutions company, started ReLead 9 years ago with a vision of stimulating the talented youth of our country to think about the green energy space and develop a knowledge base to seek employment opportunities in the clean energy space.

The ReLead platform was created to bring in more awareness among the students of premier institutes about the renewable energy sector, which is projected to employ millions of youth over the next decade. There are opportunities available across levels and functions.

ReLead is a business case study competition open to selected premier B-school students in India. The case study will focus on business issues that will help ReNew make strategic and financial decisions in our journey to becoming the most innovative clean energy solution provider.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to full-time 2-year MBA/PGDM students from the batch of 2027 and 2028 (1st and 2nd year students).
  • Full-time 1-year MBA students are eligible only from the Indian School of Business (ISB).
  • Participants must register in teams of three.
  • Participation is open only to students from the following campuses:
  • Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, New Delhi
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow
  • Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad (Both one and two - year management program students from ISB are eligible to apply)
  • Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon
  • Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur

Competition Structure:

ReLead 9.0 Registration & Case Submission:

  • Only registered teams can access the case study problem statement.
  • Two separate files need to be submitted on the website on or before the submission day as per the details mentioned below:
  • Executive Summary: This should include the core idea/summary of your presentation and should not exceed 2 slides.
  • Main Presentation: Do not exceed 10 slides for the main deck (excluding the appendix). Use your own judgment to decide the number of slides for each deliverable. The appendix should not exceed 20 slides.
  • To keep the content readable, do not use a font size below 10. Preferably, use 12 or above.
  • Submission Format: PDF.
  • The case files and submission templates can be downloaded from the respective round.
  • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName.
  • All submissions across all rounds will be evaluated by the Renew Team, and the decision will be final & binding.

Campus Round

  • The top three teams from each campus will be shortlisted for the Campus Round.
  • The Campus Round will be a virtual/in-person event where the top three teams will present their solutions to the panel.

National Final Round

  • Top 5 Campus Winners will present their submitted solutions to a jury of Renew leadership.
  • Submission Format: PDF
  • The National Finale will be held at the Head Office in Gurgaon, and teams will be given 15 minutes to present.

Prizes & Rewards:

  • Subject to evaluation, all Campus Winners will receive an opportunity for a Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) with ReNew.
  • The National Winning Team will be awarded a cash prize of INR 5,00,000.
  • The National Runner-Up Team will be awarded a cash prize of INR 3,00,000.
  • All participants will receive participation certificates.

Please note that, subject to evaluation, participants may or may not receive a Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunity. The organisation reserves the right to eliminate or not shortlist participants in case of any discrepancy.
