Opportunity brief
Rarenext is hiring for Forward Deployed Engineer
About the Company
RARE is a modern wellness platform reimagining personal rejuvenation and everyday well-being. By integrating curated wellness commerce, sanctuary appointments, on-demand at-home sessions, and intelligent diagnostic experiences, RARE bridges tactile care with seamless technology. We are building an ecosystem designed to bring calm, high-standard wellness rituals directly to individuals and partner networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Partner Onboarding & Integration Enablement
- Guide wellness partners, practitioners, and retail partners through end-to-end technical onboarding onto RARE's portals and APIs. - Assist partners with data migration, product catalog ingestion, scheduling calendar syncing, and webhook/API configuration. - Identify onboarding friction points and build automated ingestion pipelines, scripts, or templates to reduce onboarding lead time.
2. Technical Assistance & Field Operations
- Serve as the dedicated Tier-2/Tier-3 technical escalation point for partners experiencing operational bugs, inventory syncing issues, or integration errors. - Troubleshoot API payloads, webhook delivery failures, authentication tokens, and portal configurations. - Produce clear technical documentation, integration guides, setup checklists, and API recipes tailored for partner teams.
3. Internal Tooling & Product Feedback Loop
- Develop lightweight internal tools, dashboards, and automated verification scripts to simplify platform management and system observability. - Act as the voice of the partner within engineering: document recurring bugs, feature requests, and edge cases to help shape RARE's core platform roadmap. - Verify new platform release builds and feature flags against live partner configurations to maintain platform reliability.
What We Are Looking For
- Technical Background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. - Core Coding Skills: Familiarity with modern programming stacks (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js) and working with RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and webhooks. - Data & Tooling Competence: Basic experience with SQL/relational databases, data formatting/manipulation (CSV/JSON scripts), and Git version control. - Problem-Solving & Empathy: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to deconstruct complex technical problems and explain them simply to non-technical operational stakeholders. - Ownership Mindset: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment where wearing multiple hats and taking end-to-end ownership is essential.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Prior experience with platform integrations, API development, or developer advocacy. - Exposure to workflow automation tools (e.g., Postman, Retool, Zapier/Make, custom webhook handlers). - An interest in the intersection of digital health, wellness technology, and scalable platform ecosystems.
What You'll Gain
- Real Production Impact: Direct exposure to live software deployments, partner architecture, and platform scaling. - Cross-Disciplinary Exposure: Experience working closely across engineering, product design, and strategic partner operations. - Mentorship & Ownership: Regular mentorship from core founding engineers, with full ownership over your tools and integration workflows.
This is an unpaid, full-time remote internship for a duration of 2 months. The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to forward deployment, solution implementation, and cross-functional problem solving.
