About the Opportunity:

This document outlines the guidelines for a 24-hour hackathon designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and creativity among student participants. The event encourages teams to build functional prototypes or solutions addressing specific themes or challenges.

Event Details:

  • Duration: 24 hours.
  • Date & Time: September 18, 2026 (Friday) – September 19, 2026 (Saturday).
  • Location: Ramco Institute of Technology.
  • Team Size: 3–4 members per team.
  • Eligibility: Open to students from the same college only.
  • Dress Code: Formals.
  • Prize Pool: ₹30,000.

Objectives:

  • Encourage creative problem-solving and innovation.
  • Build functional prototypes or solutions within the given timeframe.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and networking among students.
  • Provide opportunities to learn new skills and technologies.

Rules and Guidelines:

Team Formation:

  • Teams must consist of 3–4 members.
  • All team members must be students from the same college; cross-college teams are not allowed.
  • Solo participants are not permitted.
  • Teams must be formed during registration; changes to team members are not allowed afterward.

Project Requirements:

  • Projects must be developed from scratch during the hackathon and will be verified during the first judging round.
  • Pre-existing code or projects are not allowed.
  • Open-source libraries, frameworks, and APIs are permitted, provided they are properly credited.
  • Projects must align with the hackathon's problem statements announced during registration.
  • All submissions must include a working prototype, source code, and a short presentation.

Competition Rounds:

Round 1: Idea Submission & Prototype Development (Online)

Teams submit a brief proposal using a PPT with the details given below. Shortlisted teams then proceed to develop a working prototype based on their approved idea.

  • Submission Window: July 27, 2026 – August 30, 2026.
  • Screening: Online.
  • Results Announcement: September 5, 2026.

Final Round: Finalist Presentations (Offline)

The top 25 teams (finalists) will present their projects to the judges.

- Each team gets 5 minutes for a demo and Q&A.

Finalist Requirements:

- Finalists must submit their presentation materials (slides and demo) before the event.

Code of Conduct:

  • Treat all participants, organizers, and mentors with respect.
  • No plagiarism, cheating, or unethical behavior.
  • Ensure all content (code, designs, and presentations) is appropriate and non-offensive.
  • Follow strict discipline rules. Violations (e.g., disruptive behavior or unauthorized system access) will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Adhere to the formal dress code throughout the event.

Resources and Tools:

  • Participants must bring their own equipment (laptops, chargers, hardware, and other tools).
  • Open-source libraries, frameworks, and APIs are allowed, provided they are properly credited.
  • Internet access and power supply will be provided.
  • Students must carry their college ID and an official On-Duty (OD) permission letter on college letterhead.

Submission:

  • Deadline: August 30, 2026.
  • Format: PPT file upload (maximum 8 slides).
  • Platform: All submissions must be uploaded to Unstop.

Judging Criteria:

  • Innovation (30%): Originality and creativity of the idea.
  • Functionality (30%): How well the prototype works and addresses the problem.
  • Technical Complexity (30%): Depth and sophistication of the solution.
  • Presentation (10%): Clarity and effectiveness of the demo or pitch.

Prizes:

  • First Prize: ₹15,000.
  • Second Prize: ₹10,000.
  • Third Prize: ₹5,000.
  • Special Awards: Remaining prizes for categories such as Best Design, Most Impactful Solution, and others as applicable.
  • Winners Announcement: During the awards ceremony at Ramco Institute of Technology.

Schedule (September 18–19, 2026 Only for Round 2):

  • 10:00 AM: Opening ceremony.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Sep 18): First screening (Round 1).
  • 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Lunch.
  • 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Prototype development.
  • 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Prototype development (Round 1 continued).
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM: Finalist submissions and preparations.
  • 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Sep 19): Finalist presentations (Round 2).
  • 11:00 AM: Awards ceremony.
