All that you need to know about EIC Bazaar: Beat the Market

EIC Bazaar: Beat the Market

Everyone has an opinion on the market. Very few can act on it when prices move every second and the news is half-true. EIC Bazaar is where you find out which one you are.

Organized by the Entrepreneurship & Incubation Cell (EIC) as part of E-Summit, Bazaar is a live stock market trading competition for students. Fictional companies, simulated markets, virtual capital. The pressure is real.

What Makes Bazaar Different?

Forget static prediction games and paper quizzes. Bazaar runs on a trading platform built specifically for this event, with live prices, breaking news and timed sessions where every decision counts.

You don't just trade one market, you trade two. First you play as a retail investor, reading charts and reacting to news. Then you step up to the institutional level, where your own orders move prices, bots trade alongside you, and the market pushes back.

News reaches you from many sources: newspapers, analysts, insiders and finfluencers. Not all of them deserve your trust, and knowing which to believe is half the game. The Grand Finale is held at E-Summit, so you compete in the same venue as founders, investors and innovators.

Who Should Apply?

Bazaar is for anyone who follows the markets, enjoys fast decisions, data or strategy, and wants to experience trading without risking real money. You don't need prior trading experience. Beginners can learn from the rulebook and strategy hints shared before the Finale, and experienced traders will find plenty to exploit. Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students across India. Cross-college teams are welcome.

Competition Structure

Bazaar runs across two rounds.

Round 1 is an Online Quiz on Unstop, covering stock market basics, financial instruments, chart and news reading, and risk-based reasoning.

Round 2 is the Grand Finale, held in person at PEC, Chandigarh on 14-15 November as part of E-Summit. Finalists trade on Bazaar's live platform across two stages:

  • Stage 1: Retail. Start with virtual capital. Trade across a range of instruments using technical tools. Trading happens in timed sessions that get tougher as new instruments and news unlock.
  • Stage 2: Institutional. Start fresh with new virtual capital. Now your trades move prices, and bots compete with you for liquidity.

Every trade carries a transaction fee, so overtrading will cost you. Teams are ranked on trading performance. General scoring guidelines and a rulebook will be shared with registered teams before the Finale.
