Photon is hiring for the role of ETL Tester!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Develop and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
- Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from source systems to target data warehouses.
- Perform source-to-target data validation using SQL queries.
- Verify business transformation rules and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct data completeness, data integrity, and reconciliation testing.
- Identify, analyze, and report data discrepancies, defects, and inconsistencies.
- Perform regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for ETL processes.
- Validate scheduled ETL jobs and monitor batch processing results.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and ETL Developers to resolve data quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards.
- Prepare test documentation, defect reports, and test execution summaries.
- Participate in requirement analysis and provide feedback on testability and data quality.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis.
- Hands-on experience in ETL Testing and data validation.
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ETL tools such as:
- Informatica PowerCenter
- Talend
- Microsoft SSIS
- IBM DataStage
- Pentaho
- Ab Initio
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift.
- Basic knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for test automation.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
