About the Competition:

  • Game of Codes 3.0 is not just another coding contest—it's a 30-day detective adventure where every algorithm uncovers a clue, every solution brings you closer to the truth, and every participant steps into the shoes of a detective alongside the legendary Sherlock Holmes.
  • Over the course of the event, participants will solve Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) challenges on weekdays, tackle Aptitude Challenges on Saturdays, and use the clues collected throughout the week to solve an exciting Sherlock Holmes mystery. Each week introduces a brand-new case, ensuring fresh stories, new suspects, and unexpected twists throughout the competition.

Event Format:

Duration: 30 Days

Start Date: 10th August

Mode: Online

Theme: Sherlock Holmes

Weekly Structure:

  • Monday to Friday (and the opening day): Daily DSA Challenge.
  • Saturday: Aptitude Challenge.
  • Sunday: Solve an exclusive Sherlock Holmes Mystery.

Each coding problem contains hidden evidence that contributes to solving the weekly mystery. Pay close attention—not every clue is obvious!

5 Cases:

  • The Scarlet Cipher - 5 Problem Statements + Aptitude + Mystery
  • The Crown of Ravens - 5 Problem Statements + Aptitude + Mystery
  • Murder on Platform Zero - 5 Problem Statements + Aptitude + Mystery
  • The Phantom Collector - 5 Problem Statements + Aptitude + Mystery
  • The Final Masquerade - 5 Problem Statements + Aptitude + Mystery

Eligibility:

  • Open to all College Students.
  • Individual participation only.
  • Inter-college participation is allowed.

Rules & Guidelines:

  • A new challenge will be released every day at the scheduled time.
  • Each challenge will remain open for 24 hours.
  • Problems are designed to gradually increase in difficulty throughout the event.
  • Participants must submit their solutions on the designated platform before the deadline.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Participants must successfully complete at least 20 rounds of GOC 3.0 to be eligible for a participation certificate.

Mystery Challenge:

  • Every week features a unique Sherlock Holmes case.
  • As you solve the daily coding problems, you'll unlock pieces of evidence such as:
  • Security logs.
  • Witness statements.
  • CCTV records.
  • Encrypted messages.
  • Digital footprints.
  • Confidential documents.
  • Hidden clues.
  • At the end of the week, participants must analyze the collected evidence and identify the correct culprit, motive, or sequence of events.
  • Success depends not only on coding skills but also on observation, logical reasoning, and attention to detail.

Fair Play Policy:

  • Original solutions are mandatory.
  • Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The use of AI tools, code generators, or unauthorized assistance is strictly prohibited unless explicitly permitted for a specific round.
  • Any attempt to manipulate the leaderboard or exploit the judging system will lead to permanent disqualification from Game of Codes and future events.
  • The decisions of the organizing committee will be final and binding.

Scoring:

  • Each coding submission will be evaluated based on:
  • Correctness.
  • Time Complexity.
  • Space Complexity.
  • Performance on Hidden Test Cases.
  • The Mystery Challenge will carry separate points for correctly identifying the weekly case solution.
