About the role

Please note, this team is hiring across all levels and candidates are individually assessed and appropriately leveled based upon their skills and experience.

Netskope Private Access (NPA) is our Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) product that large Fortune 500 enterprises use and rely upon everyday for secure access to their private applications. NPA reduces risk by providing zero trust application access instead of network access.

What's in it for you

The Netskope Private Access (NPA) team is a cross-functional group of talented engineers responsible for the end-to-end development of NPA. As a member of this team you will play an integral part in the continuing development and evolution of this service.

What you will be doing

  • Design and develop the NPA Publisher — the customer-deployed data-path component that terminates zero-trust tunnels and forwards traffic to private applications
  • Work across the full data path as needed: the Publisher, the cloud-side Gateway/Stitcher services, and the Local Broker, which share a common C/C++ core
  • Build high-throughput, low-latency packet-processing and tunneling components (L3/L4) that run reliably from cloud infrastructure down to software deployed on-premises in diverse customer environments
  • Own the Publisher's full lifecycle beyond the data path: host-OS provisioning and upgrades, image packaging across formats (OVA, VHDX, AMI), and deployment into AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem hypervisors
  • Debug and root-cause complex data-path issues end-to-end — from packet captures and kernel/network-stack behavior to multi-hop tunnel analysis
  • Periodic on-call duty for a customer-critical service

Required skills and experience

  • 8+ years building high-performance networking software — not just socket programming, but packet-level processing and event-driven architectures
  • Programming mastery in C/C++
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to root-cause production issues from packet captures, logs, and metrics
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS and DNS, including IP routing, NAT, and connection state — able to reason about how packets flow through the Linux network stack
  • Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong knowledge of Linux at a systems level
  • Proven ability to leverage modern AI-powered coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to optimize development workflows and maintain high code quality
  • Experience with unit testing and integration testing
  • Experience with Docker and k8s is preferred
  • Experience with Linux host provisioning / lifecycle automation (OS upgrades, image building, cloud-init/metadata) and Go is a strong plus
  • Willingness to work with a globally distributed team in different time zones

Education

- BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
