Event Description:
Teams are placed in an alternate-reality scenario, such as "dinosaurs never went extinct" or "electricity was never discovered." Participants must creatively explain how society, technology, and daily life would evolve in that alternate timeline. During the event, a surprise twist will be introduced, requiring teams to immediately adapt and modify their scenario. The event tests creativity, logical reasoning, adaptability, communication, and the ability to build a convincing alternate reality.
Eligibility:
Open to college students.
Team Format:
Each team must consist of 3–4 members. Inter-college and inter-specialization teams are allowed.
Event Format:
The competition will be conducted through scenario-based challenges. Teams will first develop their alternate-reality scenario and explain its impact on society, technology, and everyday life. A surprise twist will then be announced during the event, after which teams must adapt their scenario accordingly. The final evaluation will consider creativity, logical consistency, adaptability, and how convincingly the team presents its alternate timeline.
Rounds:
Round 1 – Alternate Reality Creation:
Teams receive an alternate-reality scenario and develop a logical and creative vision of how the world would evolve.
Round 2 – Timeline Twist:
A surprise change or twist is introduced. Teams must modify their existing scenario and adapt their solution accordingly.
Round 3 – Final Presentation:
Teams present their final alternate timeline and justify how their society, technology, and daily life would function under the revised scenario.
Duration:
- The complete event will run for approximately 3 hours, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Number of Problem Statements:
- One primary alternate-reality scenario will be provided to each team, followed by a surprise twist during the event.
Rules:
- Each team must have 3–4 members.
- Participants must carry valid college identification for verification.
- Inter-college and inter-specialization teams are permitted.
- Teams must develop their responses based on the scenario provided by the organizers.
- The surprise twist announced during the event must be incorporated into the team's final solution.
- Teams must ensure that their alternate-reality scenario is logically consistent and clearly explained.
- Plagiarism or copying another team's ideas will lead to disqualification.
- All team members should actively contribute to the team's presentation and response.
- Teams must complete each round within the time allocated by the organizers.
- The judges' decision regarding scoring and final rankings will be final and binding.
- Participants must maintain professional conduct throughout the competition.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify the event format or rules if required.
