Opportunity brief

About Let's Magucho:

Let's Magucho is an experiences and events platform bringing together unique things to experience, learn, explore and enjoy — from photography and art workshops to outdoor adventures, cycling, birding, masterclasses and more. We're looking for a creative, proactive and social-media-native intern who can help us build engaging content for the Let's Magucho social handles.

Responsibilities of the Intern:

  • Ideate and create Reels, Stories, carousels, static posts, memes and other short-form content.
  • Proactively dig through Google Drive, shared folders, past event footage, UGC and other content banks to find hidden gems and turn existing content into fresh, engaging Reels.
  • Take raw photographs/videos from Magucho experiences and turn them into compelling social content.
  • Stay updated with Instagram trends, viral formats, sounds, memes and creator content, and identify relevant opportunities for Magucho.
  • Write engaging captions, hooks and CTAs.
  • Assist with the content calendar, publishing, Stories and day-to-day social media management.
  • Monitor comments and DMs and support community engagement.
  • Respond to social media comments and DMs, ensuring timely and engaging communication with the Magucho community.
  • Track basic metrics such as views, reach, shares, saves and engagement and use learnings to improve content.
  • Be available to work on weekends, as Magucho experiences and social media activity may require weekend coverage.

Video Editing & Equipment:

  • Candidate must have their own laptop/PC; Magucho will not provide one.
  • Must be comfortable independently editing Reels/short-form videos on a laptop using Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut Desktop, VN or similar software.
  • Canva can be used for static creatives, but Reels should not be edited on Canva.
  • The candidate should be able to look at raw footage and think: "There's a Reel in this."

Work Arrangement & Availability:

  • This is a completely work-from-home internship.
  • The candidate must be available to work on weekends, particularly when social media activity or Magucho experiences require coverage.
  • Constant day-to-day availability is not necessarily required. To compensate for weekend availability, the candidate will be provided with a weekday off.
  • The candidate should be able to manage their work independently and meet agreed deadlines while working remotely.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong understanding of Instagram and short-form content.
  • Creative, curious and proactive, with a good eye for storytelling.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with trends, memes and internet culture.
  • Basic Canva skills and strong video-editing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and experiment with new content formats.
  • Interest in travel, photography, art, food, outdoors, culture, music, events or experiences is a plus.

Bonus Points:

  • Personal Instagram/creator page or content portfolio.
  • Previous experience creating Reels or social media content.
  • Photography/videography skills.
  • Ability to spot trends early and turn ordinary moments into interesting content.
