Opportunity brief

The Quantitative Trading Creator Festival is an individual content competition designed to help students research, understand, and clearly explain quantitative trading concepts.

Specific topics will be announced on the day the contest begins. Participants will then have one week to research their assigned or selected topic and prepare:

  • An original written article.
  • A YouTube presentation video explaining what they understood about quantitative trading.

The competition evaluates participants on their understanding, research quality, originality, and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Eligibility:

  • Open to college and university students from any course, year, or specialization.
  • This is an individual participation contest.
  • Inter-college teams are not applicable.
  • Inter-specialization teams are not applicable.
  • Previous experience in trading, finance, or programming is not required.
  • Participants must register through Unstop using accurate personal and academic information.

Competition Format:

The contest will have one content-creation round.

  • Quantitative trading topics will be shared on the contest start date.
  • Participants may be assigned a topic or allowed to select from the announced list.
  • Participants will have 14 calendar days from the topic announcement to complete their submission.
  • Each submission must include both an article and a YouTube presentation video.

Deliverables:

Written Article

  • The article must contain at least 800 words.
  • It must be published on Medium or LinkedIn.
  • It should explain the selected topic in the participant's own words.
  • Relevant examples, diagrams, references, and supporting data may be included.
  • All external sources must be properly credited.

YouTube Presentation Video

  • The video must be at least 3 minutes long.
  • It must be uploaded to YouTube as a public or unlisted video.
  • The participant must explain what they understood about the quantitative trading topic.
  • The presentation may include slides, diagrams, screen recordings, or other educational visuals.
  • The participant's voice must be included in the presentation.

Process:

  • Register for the contest through Unstop.
  • Attend or check the contest announcement on the start date.
  • Review the quantitative trading topics shared by the organiser.
  • Select or receive a topic according to the announced process.
  • Research and understand the topic.
  • Write and publish an original article.
  • Create and upload a YouTube presentation video.
  • Submit both links through Unstop within seven calendar days of the topic announcement.
  • Eligible entries will be reviewed by the judging panel.
