Opportunity brief
About the Event:
CODE RUSH 3.0 – The Ultimate Coding Olympics
- CODE RUSH 3.0 is the flagship competitive programming event organized by CPBYTE, KIET Deemed to be University. Designed to go beyond conventional coding contests, the event delivers a fast-paced experience where participants compete through uniquely designed coding challenges that test logic, speed, teamwork, and strategy.
- Each round presents a different challenge, requiring participants to think critically, solve complex problems under pressure, and outperform their opponents. From sequential team challenges to knockout battles and advanced algorithmic problem-solving, CODE RUSH 3.0 offers a competitive programming experience designed to test multiple aspects of coding.
- Whether you're an experienced competitive programmer or someone looking to challenge your coding abilities, this event provides an opportunity to showcase your problem-solving skills.
Eligibility:
- Open to all undergraduate students.
- Teams must consist of exactly 3 members.
- Inter-branch teams are allowed.
- Each participant can be a member of only one team.
- Participants should have a basic understanding of Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), and Competitive Programming.
Selection Criteria:
Teams will be shortlisted based on their competitive programming and problem-solving profiles. The organizing committee may consider:
- LeetCode profile.
- CodeChef profile.
- Codeforces profile.
- Other coding or technical profiles.
- DSA knowledge and coding experience.
- Contest participation and achievements.
- Overall profile strength.
The decision of the organizing committee regarding shortlisted teams shall be final and binding.
Competition Format:
The competition consists of three coding events.
Relay Sprint:
- Team-based sequential coding challenge.
- Three team members solve three different problems in sequence.
- The next member can begin only after the previous member receives an Accepted (AC) verdict.
- The team completing all three problems in the shortest time will be declared the winner.
- This round evaluates teamwork, coordination, speed, and accuracy.
Battle Royale:
- 3v3 knockout coding competition.
- Two teams compete simultaneously on the same problem.
- The team that solves the challenge first advances to the next round.
- The event follows a single-elimination bracket until one team emerges victorious.
- This round evaluates competitive coding ability, quick thinking, and performance under pressure.
Javelin Throw:
- Individual coding challenge featuring one advanced problem.
- Participants are ranked based on the number of test cases passed.
- This round evaluates algorithmic efficiency, optimization, and problem-solving ability.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Plagiarism, cheating, or any unfair means are strictly prohibited.
- External assistance is not allowed during the competition.
- Communication between team members is prohibited during the Relay Sprint event.
- Participants must use only the resources permitted by the organizers.
- Teams must report according to the event schedule.
- Any misconduct may result in immediate disqualification.
- The decision of the organizing committee and judges shall be final and binding.
Judging Criteria:
- Accuracy of solutions.
- Time taken to solve problems.
- Number of test cases passed.
- Algorithmic efficiency and optimization.
- Problem-solving approach and strategy.
