Opportunity brief
Kaptortech LLP is hiring an Embedded Systems Intern!
Responsibilities
- Develop zero-latency bare-metal C++ firmware for high-performance STM32 platforms based on ARM Cortex-M7 architecture.
- Design and maintain DMA-driven circular ring buffers for continuous data acquisition and transmission.
- Optimize computationally intensive mathematical algorithms for execution from Tightly Coupled Memory (DTCM).
- Support firmware components used in hardware security proxy and aerospace telemetry applications.
- Intercept, inspect, and analyze UART and RS-422 serial streams using suitable debugging and measurement techniques.
- Use logic analyzers to troubleshoot timing, framing, throughput, and protocol-level issues.
- Work with STM32CubeIDE or comparable bare-metal development workflows and collaborate closely with hardware-focused engineers.
Requirements
- Practical experience developing bare-metal firmware for STM32 microcontrollers, preferably ARM Cortex-M7 devices.
- Strong C++ programming skills and an understanding of deterministic, resource-conscious embedded implementation.
- Hands-on experience with DMA, circular buffers, memory architecture, and performance optimization.
- Experience intercepting or debugging UART and RS-422 serial communication streams.
- Ability to use logic analyzers for embedded debugging and signal investigation.
- Arduino IDE-only experience is not suitable; candidates must have bare-metal or STM32CubeIDE experience.
- Familiarity with custom KiCad PCB design or FPGA-based hardware acceleration using Verilog and lookup tables is a major advantage.
- This is an unpaid, three-month hybrid internship based in Pune and is intended for candidates eager to work on demanding embedded systems problems.
