About the Competition
Have old newspapers, empty bottles or cardboard boxes lying around? Turn them into something useful or decorative and compete for a total prize pool of ₹10,000!
Best Out of Waste is a creative competition organised by Team Samvriddhi, NSS Kalindi College, on 24 September 2026 to celebrate the 57th NSS Day.
The task is simple: use waste or unused materials to make a new item. You could create:
- A pen stand or paper bag from old newspapers
- A planter from a plastic bottle
- A desk organiser from a cardboard box
- A photo frame from ice-cream sticks
- Coasters or wall decorations from old CDs
These are just examples. You can choose your own idea and show how something we usually throw away can still be useful!
Who Can Participate?
- Open to college students.
- Team participation is allowed.
- Members from different colleges can form a team.
- Team size limits will be shared once confirmed.
Rules and Format
- Waste or unused materials must form the main part of your creation.
- Your item can be useful, decorative or both.
- The organisers will confirm whether you must make the item at the venue or bring it ready-made.
- Details about materials, tools, time limits and judging criteria will be shared once finalised.
